Superfinishing machine is used for final finishing of precision surfaces after grinding or hard turning. Using superfinishing stones or abrasive tape with a controlled oscillating motion, it removes a very small amount of material to further improve surface roughness, waviness, and surface texture.

Compared with grinding, superfinishing removes less material and is focused primarily on refining the workpiece’s final surface quality and functional surface characteristics.

Applications

Typical superfinishing workpieces include bearing rings, cylindrical rollers, tapered rollers, shaft components, and other precision transmission parts. Vertical or horizontal machine configurations can be selected according to the workpiece geometry, surface to be finished, and production method.

    More suitable for rollers, shafts, screws, and other rotational components with a high length-to-diameter ratio. Depending on the application, it can use plunge or through-feed superfinishing, with the through-feed process particularly suited to continuous batch production.
